Frankenstein. Mary Shelley
“Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus” is the first and best-known novel by the English writer Mary Shelley (1797—1851) which she wrote being 19 years old. The book quickly gained in popularity and exercised noticeable influence over the whole world art. It is a history of a scientist who decided to follow God’s example and create a man… an artificial one. And his attempt turned out well. Actually, the intention, noble from the very start, having been realized in life, had pernicious consequences — the creature raised his arm against his creator aiming at punishing him and, in one go, the whole human kind.
